Jackie arrived in Hong Kong in 1966 and was immediately drawn to its most notorious and dangerous city, Kowloon's Walled City. It was amongst the people of this place, known for its hopelessness and despair, that God worked to transform her life and Hong Kong 's Walled City through her. Today, her work is recognised by the Hong Kong Government, University of Hong Kong and she was awarded an MBE in 1988. She has written two books, Chasing the Dragon and Crack in the Wall depicting the life and death of Kowloon Walled City.
