Simply put, most of my time at university was spent finding the best
deals on various drugs and parties. Fun turned to need, and eventually the money I stole from my family, friends, landlord and girlfriend wasn't enough to feed my own habit. Finding myself being out of school and out of money, my family extended a helping hand that brought me back to Hong Kong. Upon arrival, nothing helped me quit the things that ruined me. It was at this time that I turned to a Christian friend for help. I had no idea about God, but all I knew was that I wanted to stop the things that I was doing.

After taking me to church I knew in my heart that God was real, but I knew absolutely nothing about Christianity. Fortunately our church was doing the Alpha course, and it was there that I got to start from the very beginning, learning the basics of what Christianity really is. The Alpha course was the best way for me to have all of my questions answered in a comfortable and encouraging atmosphere. Without reserve, I had the chance to ask all the ridiculous things that my adolescence never answered. It was at Alpha that I learnt the real meaning of following Jesus.

Needless to say, my life turned around. Through support from the Vine Christian Fellowship and with the foundation set in place by the Alpha course, I began a new life that is free of the things that almost destroyed me. Every person in the world has battles that they face… but I can confidently say that mine are now behind me.

There is a saying that people always come back to Alpha after the first night. If there were any place I would suggest you go to begin learning about the God that saved my life and millions of others, it would be the Alpha course.
