Everyone
has questions - big questions,
real questions - about life, injustice, suffering, the future,
death, other faiths.
To make a bigger impact
to our community, every year we will launch the Alpha Invitation
- a city-wide initiative to tell people what the Alpha course
is and how they can find a course near them.
Posters, banners and invitations
are available to order via the Alpha Bookshop. Or to produce
your own promotional materials, visit www.alpha.org.hk or
www.alphafriends.org for all the artwork and free e-tools.
TIMING
Advertising will run
across Hong Kong on posters and tram stations in the run-up
to the Alpha Invitation Week. To link in with this, many
Alpha courses spend the first 2 weeks of September advertising
their course, often holding a prayer event in the second
week of September. This is usually followed by a launch
event in the third week and the majority of Alpha courses
being in the last week of September or first week of October
so that they are completed in time for Christmas.
ACTION
If
your church has decided to run an Alpha course, here
are five things to do as soon as possible:

- Register your course with
Alpha office
- Book your Alpha Introductory Dinner and Alpha
weekend venue
- Plan your food arrangements. The meal is an indispensable
part of the Alpha course, so you will need a good
supplier.
- Start praying, and attend our Joint Alpha Prayer
Meeting if you start your course in Autumn to take
advantage of the momentum the annual Alpha Invitation.
- Be sure to attend our leaders' training for all
small group leaders and helpers (and
other volunteers if possible).
